In our third instalment unpacking the Consolidated Practice Directives, we moved further into the practical realities of dispute resolution within sectional title schemes, an area that trustees, managing agents and owners encounter regularly. Building on the groundwork covered in Parts 1 and 2, this session explored how disputes are intended to progress through the CSOS process, what the Directives require in practice, and where schemes often go wrong.
We unpacked the responsibilities of each party during the dispute process, the expectations placed on managing agents, and how schemes can approach conflict more strategically and constructively.
We also examined the role of POPI within the CSOS environment, particularly how personal information should be handled in dispute proceedings, governance processes and scheme communication.
Although the Consolidated Practice Directives span 218 pages, they provide a clear framework for effective governance and dispute management. This session aimed to translate that framework into practical guidance you can apply with confidence.
